Driftwood is a kind of wood that has been washed onto a beach or shore of a sea, lake, or river by the action of winds, tides or waves. It is a form of marine debris tide wrack.Most driftwood is the remains of tress,in whole or part, that have been washed into ocean because of high winds, flooding, or other natural occurrences. There is also a subset of driftwood known as drift lumber.
